Day 125: It’s the last stop: Bowling and the Falls

DAY 125: Niagara Falls, New York
Miles traveled: 16,586
States visited: 46
Weather: 84, sunny

The last stop on this whirlwind four-month tour was Niagara Falls, New York. I’ve never been there so it was a new experience for me. We couldn’t go to the Canadian side (someone forgot her passport…), but seeing them from the U.S. side was enough. It’s cool that you can walk right up to the edge of the falls, just feet away.

The lucky folks with more disposable cash than us took the tour down underneath the falls, where they could stand and get splashed by the water.

After all this sightseeing we did something we’ve been trying to do for several days now – go bowling! Nothing says small-town America like the bowling alley, and on this day Robin and I played two games for the low, low price of just $1.50 each. My first game was ugly, but in the second game I found my form. Four strikes and three spares led to a score of 164, my second-highest score ever!

Next it’s back to Pittsburgh and it’s the end of the road. I’m working on all sorts of retrospective posts so keep checking back here because there will be new content for weeks to come!

  3. If you’re home by now, then hooray! I’m glad you got to bowl AND see Niagara Falls — it’s a wonderful country we live in.

I look forward to seeing what the next steps in your life are, now that this adventure is over…and I’ll just bet that you do, too. 🙂
