My first rattlesnake?

During my recent trip to Wyoming, we saw signs warning of rattlesnakes along the way. I’ve never seen a rattlesnake, so that was high on my list.

I finally saw one – I think. In western Nebraska along the Wyoming border, we ran across this snake roadkill. Is that a rattle on the end? The snake was between 2-3 feet long. I’m going to count it as officially seeing a rattlesnake.

I’ve seen so much wildlife over the last 2 years that there’s not much left on my wishlist. My short list of animals that I haven’t yet seen in their natural habitat: Whales, polar bears and mountain goats.  And of course African animals like elephants, lions, tigers, hippos, rhinos, zebras, etc. I guess I have to take a safari some day!
