Yankee. Hotel. Foxtrot.


Whenever I go to Chicago, I see those two tall round buildings (I’m not even sure what they’re called), and I immediately get the Wilco song “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart” stuck in my head. Those buildings were featured on the cover of Wilco’s landmark 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, and I always get the urge to take a picture of the buildings to reproduce the album cover.

Last weekend, I made a brief trip to Chicago, and finally took the picture:


I’ll be returning to Chicago in July. I hope to spend at least a week there scouting out neighborhoods, since I’m considering moving there. (Wicker Park? Pilsen? Logan Square?) I’ll also be attending the Pitchfork Music Festival. Woohoo!
